There’s no need to jump from site to site to find that free ebook one wants to read.
The only thing one needs is a free ebooks search engine.
Justfreebooks is a search engine that allows the user to search the pages of more than 250 sites of free books.
With Justfreebooks, one can find public domain texts, open ebooks, free audio books and ad-supported ebooks.

Technically not free, but BookShare has an incredible selection of books, including recent New York Times bestsellers. You have to be certified as being print disabled (i.e., visually impaired or mobility impaired and unable to turn pages) and pay a yearly fee, but you can earn credits towards that fee by scanning in books for them.

You might also consider the project I’ve been working on: Feedbooks.
There’s public domain books, user generated contents, and newspapers created out of multiple news widgets.
Our system work as a “print on demand” PDF system. You can easily customize the font, size of the document and margins. There’s a template for A4 PDF and for the most popular e-ink readers out there: Sony PRS-500 & iRex iLiad.

I tried joining Bookmooch. I listed some books I was willing to give away, some pretty good stuff, excellent condition… then I started browsing for items I might like to receive from others. Frankly, I found a lot of garbage listed. Bookmooch awards one-tenth point per “book” listed, even if nobody ever wants to receive it from you. So people list a lot of worthless junk, like two-year-old back issues of Elle magazine and Readers Digest, stuff that the public library doesn’t even want you leaving on the giveaway table. Who in the world thought it would be a good idea to allow old magazines to be listed as if they were books?

      Hi

I found your blog by looking for free books to see what connected with the theme of my blog, http://freebooksplus.net/blog/.
There are loads of ways of getting legal free books including audio books over the radio and I’ll be looking at them regularly. I also offer advice on the best free ways to process the book whether print or audio and I’d love to have comments to help me see what readers value most. Let’s all contribute to more legal free books
