Some time back, I took a look at Imagery (The ultimate frontend for Google Images).
While this is still great for finding images online, there’s always the issue of image copyrights to contend with if you want to publish them online, and the quality of those images may sometimes be lacking.
Flickr-storm is a Flickr search front-end which puts together a really good set features which include:
- Discovering related tags
- Batch downloading
- Search within Creative Commons photos for free use.
How good is Flickr vs Google Images? Well search for “laugh” and compare Flickr set picture at the top of this post, and then compare it with this one.
It’s not so much that the Google results are irrelevant, but if you’re looking to discover beautiful photos… it’s just plain hard to beat Flickr.
