[...] How NOT To Do A Videogame Commercial. How Zelda became popular after this commercial is a testament to how good the game really is. (Via digg toplinks.) [...]
Sadly, I remember this commercial (which ran on Saturday mornings, I believe). And I was embarrassed to watch it then, too.
Aww, c’mon guys. *Everything* Nintedo did back then was cheesy.

If you’re STILL talking about it….it did its job.
Your parents help you hook it up? You’re telling me the guys in that commercial aren’t old enough to hook a cord to the tv and then plug the system in?
Nice find, but a sad state of affairs in that this ad is actually meant to be cool. The guy with the blond hair just screams “nerdlinger”
Darren: I think it’s not so much that the ad was effective after all these years, it has more to do with the fact that it’s Zelda. Any Zelda commercial today would be something loads of people would watch and talk about… the fact that its so nerdy only makes it more unbelievable :)
Aaron: look at them :) would you trust them with an electric cord?
Sad State: Too true man.. too true.
blACK POWER N RESET BUTTONS?
