Microsoft’s Windows Clipboard (The virtual space which stores your ‘cut/copy’ so you can ‘paste’ it), is perhaps one of the most underdeveloped features of Windows. Its ability to only store ONE item at a time has been the bane of many a Windows user who just needed something more than that.
Fortunately, the community has responded and there are quite a number of good tools out there which will extend the functionality of the clipboard. I’ve tried several of these Clipboard managers, but after putting it to the test, Ditto is perhaps one of the most powerful of these such tools.
Among many others, here are some of my favorite features:
- Stores as many copied entries as you want
- Sort those copied items so you can use them later (e.g. Address details)
- Search as you type feature – which allows you to filter through all the items you copied to your clipboard
- Thumbnails for images on clipboard
- Portable and can be run directly from a thumb-drive
Ditto is also open source and completely free :)

I have used Clipmate for years now and love what it does for me. Check it out!!!
I use ClipX right now and I’m quite happy with it.
But I’ll give Ditto a try as well…
Clipmate!
I use 25clips, and its very good
I use ditto to share clipboards between several machines. It’s great, but it often crashes when you copy a file, and you can’t restart it until you reboot.
i use clipmate too. hasnt yet crashed on me.
Many Paste. very easy and take very low system resourse

I use “Your Clipboard”. Its light weight, easy to learn and use,
and saves only the clips you want to save.
