Youtube loads about five times faster when you are logged in to your account. Doing this will work much better than any program you download.

I download the accelerator (Mac version) and the icon didn’t even appear after hours.I restarted my computer, and the icon still didn’t appear on my menu bar.It seems that it is just a problem.I’m now finding some websites that can accelerate my video without downloading.Such a waste of time though.I can just do some other activities while my video loads.It’s just like waiting for 5 seconds, and POOF the video loads completely.That’s the best way.

@Transcontinental. I guess you’ll really see the differences on slower connections. Simultaneous downloads to aid speed is nothing new. I can testify that accelerators like Firefox extension DownloadThemAll, which use more or less the same principle – do really work.

I’ve tried SpeedBit, didn’t accelerate video, be it on YouTube or elsewhere … moreover, I have the feeling that latest Flash player (ver. 10) renders more quickly than before. IMO, these ‘video accelerators’ are a sum of hope and joke :) Maybe on very poor connections do they help, no idea.

@erica – Thanks, if you mean side by side comparison of Accelerated YouTube videos then no, because the software would be client side software (ie. Something you need to install). Results would be visible on any YouTube video.
