I should note that Yahoo mail tends to take slightly longer before it shows up in your inbox, but Gmail should be pretty instant. I've downloaded the software and done everything that the online manual suggests and I can't backup a simple Word file. It is worthless to me and I'll just have to uninstall it now. I think sometimes gmail can't work with Word attachments I don't think. Luckily, my .mac mail had saved all the attachments in the sent mail folder so I got everything back anyway, but make sure your backups are recoverable.
