How to Recycle Electronics and Get Cash Back

I love it when a good idea picks up steam and turns into a better one.  This is very much the case with BuyMyBrokeniPod.com, where it completely evolved from an iPod recycling site, to BuyMyTronics.com a full fledged online recycling outfit that will buy your old laptop/pda/cellphone/camera/console and yes - they still buy iPods as well :)

The concept of selling electronics to them is still as simple as before:

  1. Answer a few questions about the condition of your product to get a quotation for your device
  2. Ship your product to them
  3. Get your money in PayPal
  4. Feel a warm fuzzy glow for helping keep electronic waste from our landfills

…which saves the hassle of waiting for an eBay auction or Craigslist listing to be resolved.

BuyMyTronics.com also purchases broken/non-functional devices as they’re able to make money by taking the working parts from some devices and using them to fix others.

I think malaysian can use this website. But, how if the money we get is lesser than shipping fee? This is the main problem. If anyone in malaysia is having this kind of service. It would be great!!!

  5. James Yeang Says:

@Syahid, Greentac: Yes it’s international including Malaysia, and you will get less cash overall because of the shipping - but think of an environmentally friendly way to get rid of some of your old good with little or no resale value.

  6. Greentac Says:

@James Yeang: Yeah, you are right. At least we can reduce the electronic waste. If there is any station in malaysia is prefered.
