We leave it turned on most of the day. The best part is the one to one messaging that we can send in our voices. Sometimes we are at the mall and we share the scenes. If it can access the internet with EDGE, WI-Fi or CDMA you'll still be able to use all the programs (Make sure you have an affordable data plan though). Thanks for the feedback about the background.
