Reclaim Your Internet Identity with ClaimID

Nothing you say online is really secret anymore. The problem now is controlling what people read about you, and how they form a judgement based on your online presence.

Controlling what entries come out tops on Google when you search you name can be tough. It may be a kiddy website you did when you were younger. It may be a comment on an article, which is read out of context. It may be a rant you did on your blog which seemed like a good idea at the time. Even if you don’t talk about yourself, someone else may write about you.

ClaimID tries to focus your online presence by giving people an online voice to tell the world who they are, rather than relying on pure search results, and getting judged based on that…which is useful in a day and age where even employers search online about potential candidates before taking them on.

My experience with it was that it was a quick and painless registration. After a week, a search for my name had my claim ID site at #6 in Google. Not too bad considering i never linked it to them before writing this. (I did not want incoming links from my site affecting the search results in Google before this test)

Bonus Tip: When you sign up, use your real name (not your internet handle) as your login name because your ClaimID page will reflect that. Remember — you WANT people to find this page when they search for your name.
