What is Joost?
Video on the Net? Surely this is nothing revolutionary – Or is there more than meets the eye with Joost?
Designed by the same geniuses who brought you Skype and Kazaa, Joost is a new way of watching TV on the Internet. With Joost, you get all the things you love about TV, including a high-quality full-screen picture, hundreds of full-length shows and easy channel-flipping.
Other features include search, chat and instant messaging, built right into the program – so you find shows quickly and talk to your friends while you watch. And with no schedules to worry about, you can watch whatever you want, whenever you like – as often as you want.
On the surface, it might seem like another YouTube, but once you start playing around with it – you’ll find it’s so much more. The two main things that sets it apart would be the high quality of shows, and blazing fast streams with P2P technology. All for FREE of course!
I was very impressed with the way it could cope with my horribly slow Internet connection. YouTube’s stream is usually choppy my machine. Joost – in contrast, streams flawlessly, and with arguably better video resolution to as well!
It even comes with interactive widgets and chat platforms. This platform is so attractive – even major networks like CBS have agreed to start offering its content (CSI, Survivor) on Joost when launches this year.
Make no mistake – Internet TV has arrived and its name is Joost.

Choppy and blurry, and frankly not worth anything yet is what I think when I think Internet TV. Like at Youtube – Yeah it’s fun, and if you’re lucky a few of your favorite shows are uploaded on there, but more often than not the link doesn’t work, or it stops streaming a minute into the video. Then I spend upwards of half an hour loading and reloading the whole thing until I get a good connection going. All that for a five-minute video, too; talk about inefficient. And worst of all, the resolution is so low that I feel like I’m viewing the world through my granny’s bifocal glasses. That’s why I can’t wait to try out Joost – the screenshots look oh-so-divinely-beautiful, the images crisp and sharp. If THIS is the future of Internet TV, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to leave my computer again, save for the occasional bathroom break and sandwich.
April 28th, 2007 at 12:10 pm
Cris – you’ll be blown away – Even with my crappy net connection, the streams start almost right away, and didn’t stop halfway thru at any point.
April 28th, 2007 at 12:18 pm
I don’t know what internet tv is and I’d like to find out.
April 28th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
Hello there,
i’d like an invitation if it’s possible…
Thanks a lot!
April 28th, 2007 at 1:11 pm
ok, i just read how to enter!
well…
i think it’s great to be able to have a tv in your computer(at least for me since i work 24/7) and you can save a lot of extra fees.
anyway i’m all interesting in exploring new things/Technology.
April 28th, 2007 at 1:42 pm
I would like to enter.
Internet TV is becoming something of the future. The invention of Youtube and Google Video really jumpstarted something that I think will expand enough that it will become more popular than regular TV. The new generation is an internet generation and naturally, they want entertainment.
April 28th, 2007 at 3:00 pm
The introduction of Internet TV is not a great leap forward in terms of technology. It’s just television streamed over a fast internet connection and according to some sources the content will not be identical to the programs available via normal broadcast or cable tv. Copyright issues and the protection of PayTV revenues will hamper access to full blown programming and as such I don’t think Internet TV will replace normal TV as the dominant distribution medium for a while to come.
What Internet TV does very well is interactivity,
and I can see endless applications for this sort of programming – online interactive quiz shows, crime shows with multiple endings chosen by the viewer, telecasts of sporting events with user controlled camera views etc.
Anyway, I’d like to see what the fuss is all about so a Joost invite would be awesome. Cheers!
April 28th, 2007 at 4:55 pm
The buzz is really on!
- Joost is, like KaZaa and Skype were, going to make a revolution in users’ habits. Connected People already don’t use their TV anymore. Why should their culture stay underground?
I linked to my blog (in french actually): http://kaprim.bloginter.com/post/2007/04/28/Joost
April 28th, 2007 at 5:46 pm
i heard joost will be open for public on may 1st, so just be patient :)
April 28th, 2007 at 5:51 pm

April 28th, 2007 at 5:55 pm
keep up the good work!I would like to get an invitation Thank you!
April 28th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
Man, I’ve been dying for a Joost invitation for months already… for this time, I truly wish that I could recieve an invitation to beta test Joost. Joost is so cool…
Please gimme’ a Joost invitation. I really want it. I’ve wanted to try it since my first time visiting the website. Thank you.
April 28th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
mac_da: It’s only a rumor that it’s going live on Tuesday. AP and Forbes reports an end May launch while NYT reports an earlier launch. Whatever the case – if it goes live, that’s awesome for everyone – if it does not – then readers here will still get an invite – You lose nothing by entering the contest!
April 28th, 2007 at 9:52 pm
I have already subscribed to your RSS feed through my Outlook, but have added it to my Google Reader just to be on the safe side. I would really like to be one of the winners in this contest. From what I have seen, it looks like the quality will be great.
The marketers of Joost are brilliant! I have been reading different posts about invites, and the demand and buzz that they have created is ridiculous. Please make me part of this insanity. Thanks.
April 28th, 2007 at 11:52 pm
Hi Friedbeef, nice blog. I usually use sopcast and tvants to see the nba and the spanish league, because I am living in uk now but I am spanish. This p2p programs are allright but not really smooth sometimes, and stop from time to time to buffer. I would like to try joost and give you my opinion, if is going to be the revolution of the tv as it is said in the web. So please send me an invitation if somebody has a spare one. Thanks so much in advance. Take care people. jandrofernandez@gmail.com
April 29th, 2007 at 4:48 am
I am very interested in Joost as I like to stay current on the series I follow, not being dependent on when my national broadcast channel picks it up.
So, I wouldn’t mind a Joost account!
April 29th, 2007 at 6:53 am
Well James, I Just add you in my Feed My Feed, check it out in my blog. Wish you can get some traffic too.
April 29th, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Internet TV is the best way to make people fat. YouTube, though with its low quality, manages to do that already. CruncyRoll also manages to do so. Joost, with its expected high quality, will make the average weight of humans go up more.
April 29th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
It’s expected, people are finally getting QUALITY Internet TV. I mean this is not exactly new, but it’s not old either. I really like what I heard about the quality of it, and the IMing and so on. Yeah, so I’m like really excited and please pick me!!!
April 30th, 2007 at 12:49 am
I’ve also got 2 invites to spare-drop me a line @ joshtemes@gmail.com
April 30th, 2007 at 4:12 am
I feel strongly that internet TV will kill mass media. User created content on Youtube gets tested for quality by the massive amount of viewers weeding through all the videos. What happens is you have a social self-governing population of artists, which will eventually replace all of the network television. Joost allows for super high quality video, like that of traditional television, by sharing the bandwidth costs among users. This will be awesome.
April 30th, 2007 at 7:31 am
I have been a friend of “shared content” for a long time, also participating in distributed computing projects and all that goodness :P
Naturally this sparks my interest, especially considering that i don’t have a real TV here (never in the mood to watch when i have time, not the time when i am in the mood, and/or no time when there is actually something good to watch). So currently i kinda run a software TiVo thing on my PC but with all the commercial breaks and everything it’s not as much fun as i hoped it would be. Maybe Joost is the answer? I hope to find out soon *wink*
April 30th, 2007 at 7:32 am
Internet TV is definitely the direction content providers should be heading to. We can already watch HD shows for free on ABC.com. It’s hard to make advertising revenue off of the internet when providing access to shows for free, but I’m sure these media bigwigs can figure it out. They had to move from radio to TV. Now they have to make the transition from TV to the Internet.
April 30th, 2007 at 10:27 am
all i know is, joost has opened my eyes just by me reveiwing the facts and all the hype behind it. i would greatly apreciate a invite, and would be a joost daily user. thank you, my email is glassjaw_kills@hotmail.com
April 30th, 2007 at 4:52 pm
I Looooooove internet tv , pls. invite me to joost
April 30th, 2007 at 5:52 pm
Love internet TV it is not customizeable I mean it is too rigid you can’t watch it on your tv or share it. It is stuck to one source. Joost allows you to share legally all your shows with out the headache of current ” Notice of Claim of Copyright Infringement.” I mean WHAT IS WRONG WITH SHARING SHOWS YOU LOVE AND YOU PAY FOR TV ANYWAYS. I think it the entertainment industry is too prehistoric in its thinking about current REALITY and FUTURE use of peer-to-peer potential and great grail of bandwith anti-hog properties
PLEASE INVITE ME AND SHOW ME THERE IS HOPE!!!
April 30th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
hi there plz can i have an invites as i dont have a tv and hoping i can watch on my computer thanks alot much appreicate it
April 30th, 2007 at 11:24 pm
I Love internet tv too. I’d appriciate an invite to joost
May 1st, 2007 at 2:25 am
Internet TV is the wave of the future. With more people having DVRs and trying to watch their shows on their time it will come shortly to a head with however can capitalize on the Internet TV. Slingbox, Joost, or someone new.
With that said, I would love to try out Joost.
May 1st, 2007 at 5:17 am
What do I think of Internet TV? Same as I feel about ‘military intelligence’ – it’s an oxymoron, pretty much.
I mean, if you visit the networks’ sites themselves – ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox – you wouldn’t know that they were all in the same business. ABC probably does the best job, although they, too, fall into the steady-by-jerks streaming quality once in a while.
Content? Schmontent. When Charlie Rose is a buck 99 per episode and half of the shows put out by the major networks aren’t even archived for the web, the user experience is basically one of baited-and-switched.
Why would I like a Joost invite? Mostly, because I am near to pushing the envelope on wasting time and I really think having Joost would put me over the top.
Dude, can you hook me up with an invite?
May 1st, 2007 at 6:25 am
Hey there, thought I would join the fray for a Joost invite. The idea of Internet TV or IPTV is great especially for niche content that cannot find distribution on any of the big networks. For a very long time I could not find the type of content I was looking for (Mixed Martial Arts or Ultimate Fighting) on TV so I would need to search shady video stores, fleamarkets, ebay, etc. to find outdated events to watch on DVD or even VHS. When Tivo first came out I jumped on board right away. Delivering content over the net would be even better than just a DVR. I’ve also looked at verismonetworks’ offering, but it does not seem as mature. One of the reasons I am looking for an invite is because I see that Joost has added the Canadian based Fight Network to their list of channels/partners. I’ll subscribe to the email newsletter in hopes of obtaining an invite!
Sal.

I want to create programming for TV and internet TV has the potential to open everything up wide for anyone to manage and create not only their own show but their own network or programming.
Its amazing the potential that is there, but that so easily could be taken away by corporations if we don’t stay vigilant.
May 2nd, 2007 at 12:50 am
I must be getting old – forced learning! I heard of something called the digital revolution and decided to get cookin. Bought 3 MACs and as much software as I could – now I’m learning what the hell its all about. I need joost and a few friends to help me climb the curve…. Have fun. Peter
May 2nd, 2007 at 12:53 am
I produce network and pay cable TV shows, but I need to get into internet TV, or my days of creating shows are numbered! Very exciting time right now, and it’s definitely building a huge momentum. Very interested in Joost as well as Vudu.
Would love to get an invite to Joost!
May 2nd, 2007 at 1:01 am
No offence to anyone but I could make up some BS line about what I do or how I am a special case but the truth is I think it is cool and I want to have access to it.
May 2nd, 2007 at 2:21 am

I’d like to try Joost out after all this buzz. I’ve tried TVU Player, SpoCast, and ShoutCast (though Winamp) for live sports events but I haven’t been very impressed. Maybe Joost will do what others have not?
May 2nd, 2007 at 4:20 am
If you can I would appreciate an invite, thanks either way ;)

May 2nd, 2007 at 4:30 am
I have been downloading/streaming movies (legally) for quite a while and I have to say I prefer to do that to go to my local video store, however the lack of on demand TV shows/services is very disappointing to me. since I have 24 meg connection i don’t really have a bandwidth issue. I have tried other so called on demand tv services prior to joost and would like to compare them as I have not been trully satisfied with the services so far!
I think Joost is heading in the right direction and can be that step for the internet community to truelly be able to enjoy the freedom as they should.
Oh by the way PLEASE send me a joost invite ;)
Thanks
Cem

Hello there, Im not sure if you have any Joost invites left, but if you do I would for sure love one! Im a pretty big nerd myself (I run a World of Warcaft guild http://www.bsodguild.com nuff said lol) and nothing would complete my nerdiness more than a Joost invite. I could triumph over all my nerdy friends with it, become a king of nerds if you will lol.
Internet TV is the way of the future, and who doesn’t want to be part of the future? lol
p.s. For the Horde!

Looking forward to be invited for a Joost account.
your site looks interesting. Think you’ll find me here more often.
I personally think internet TV is the future, not in the way it is done now, but like VoIP we do get TVoIP in a while.
In the end we can do everything that has to do with communication either static or interactive by the same account. But for now Joost is way ahaed of the other competitors (imho).
Thanks in advance!
May 3rd, 2007 at 11:03 pm
You just can’t beat good old off-air TV (at least in the USA). In the evenings I get great Hi-def content TOTALLY FOR FREE. That said, I also believe that a large portion of the population will use internet TV instead of cable or satellite. It just makes sense, I already pay an ISP for web access. Why also pay for cable or satellite? In fact, I recently cut off my cable subscription and got a faster internet connection. Joost should be great. Thx,
Brian
May 3rd, 2007 at 11:16 pm
I think Internet TV is the wave of the future in terms of delivering content to the viewer. I’m impressed by the forays into the market made by the major networks, but the quality still leaves alot to be desired (grainy picture, choppy streams, small sized video, content restrictions). However, from what I’ve read about Joost, the quality is superb; definitely beyond my wildest expectations. I’m looking forward to testing out Joost and reading your e-mail newsletter I signed up for!!
Thanks so much,
Martin
May 3rd, 2007 at 11:30 pm
HI there, any chance of an invite. Thanks man
May 3rd, 2007 at 11:31 pm
I love the idea of being able to get internet TV at my computer while I study. Odd as it may seem, with a slight distraction such as the TV on I seem to get more done. (probably because I am less likely to surf) Also I like the idea of being able to get on demand tv without having to pay for the tivo thing and other related hardware
Thanks for sharing Joost.
May 3rd, 2007 at 11:37 pm
I love using YouTube to post family videos for my sister to watch. However, Internet TV is still too disconnected from the television. The Apple TV and all next-gen video game consoles are attempting to shrink that separation by bringing a “web-presence” to your television. But Internet TV will really explode when you can sit on your couch, pick up a remote, and just turn it on. That’s where the “computer as televised entertainment” currently falls short.
I’m subscribing to your RSS feed, and look forward to a Joost invitation at your earliest convenience.
Thanks,
J Rob

May 4th, 2007 at 2:18 am
I was a video major in college and spent all of my time in the early 90’s talking about how Internet video was the way of the future. Yeah, lots of eye rolls and laughs. I really didn’t ever use it until recently (I avoided it to some extent knowling darn well I’d waste days looking at cool things) but I really, really love being able to travel and not having to wait to come home to watch my fave shows. I can see creating TV fave lists like a PVR that would allow you to sync and download subscribed shows to your PMP; the show-as-a-sales-tool model where furnishings, clothes, etc. are all clickable and purchaseable… but those were things I was saying five years ago and getting laughed at. You’ll have to ask me what I’m getting laughed at about these days :)
May 4th, 2007 at 3:27 am
Hi there. Thanks for offering the free invite to Joost internet Tv. I think internet Tv is long overdue since broadband arrived. It will be great to have real time news and sports broadcasts along with the regular soaps. I hope I am lucky enough to get a invite.
By the way… your website is super. I liked it a lot and am saving it in my fav. list ( whether i get a Joost invite or not.. ).
Wish me luck! I hope I win a invite. Thanks again. !
Cheers…
Sincerely
BHARAT

The whole concept of the way we use the Internet is rapidly changing. Joos t seems to be taking the next big step in providing high quality video/tv to anyone with an internet connection and enough bandwidth. It is very interesting to follow these sort of developments, especially if you still remember the time when just trying to load a page of text was tedious and modems sounded like R2D2 having a fit. I look forward to actually seeing Joost working, and hope to have an invitation soon.
Cheers,
Jakob

IP tv surely is the future. Although whether it realy is there yet or not is another matter. But, that’s why you have beta releases for things like Joost. Just imagine a couple of years ago this would have sounded like fantasy – so in another couple of years no reason to belive the quality won’t be good enough to be a spring board for mainstream. In the mean time I for one am looking forward to my joost invite! :)

Internet tv,
If we could describe Internet TV, this is how I would describe it.
Easy
Choice
Your schedule
What you like
Interaction
Individualism ( we use to watch tv with family members)
Actuallly it will force the other TV to reconsider how it’s distributed. It will bring upon the market bing changes.
Thanks
Marc

Coming from a very large church, we’re exploring many many different ways to stream teaching, etc. Joost seems like a neat option! Thanks for the invite! dhunter@secc.org is where you can send it.
May 5th, 2007 at 11:33 am
Internet tv can only improve on cable – maybe we can finally customize what we want to watch?
May 5th, 2007 at 1:24 pm
I think Internet TV is wonderful. Right now, I spend a lot of time online. It’s how I work, communicate, and also where I receive my entertainment. I love the advances in technology that allow me to streamline that. Right now, I currently use a Slingbox to stream my digital cable to my home computer, or wherever I am. I would be interested in seeing what Joost! has to offer!
May 5th, 2007 at 1:32 pm
I know very little about TV via the internet but would like to give it a try. I think it will be the way to consumeTV style content in the future. The next step from DVR’s and time shifting.
May 5th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
Hi, I just subscribed to your email newsletter. Thank you very much for the offer of a Joost invite. I am an American living in Finland and really need Joost! I’ve been hoping something like this would come out. I look forward to testing Joost, and will definitely pay it forward by sending others Joost invites.
May 5th, 2007 at 2:28 pm
I think Internet TV is the new revolution. Free broadcast TV for everyone ! Please sned me an invite. Thanks !
May 5th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
i keep missing my favorite shows….catching the tail end of them, or getting into the show only to have someone interupt me. This way, I can take the laptop in the bathroom, lock the door and catch up on my favorite shows. :)
I’d love an invite, and I signed up for your newsletter. Great promotional idea.
May 5th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
With the broadband expanding here in Croatia, there’s a good chance we could all enjoy in Internet TV, besides some unpopular soulutions, and buggy also…
An invite would be apriciated, thx :)
May 5th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
I have no cable TV nor Dish TV so Internet TV is a revolution for me –> jumping from 3 analog channels to a full set of channels.
IP TV rules
Thx for sending me an invite

Internet TV in just another step toward the new age of information. Everything is happening over the internet now, and information is becoming more and more freely available. Joost sounds like such a wonderful idea, and I’m extremely eager to try it.
May 6th, 2007 at 1:55 am
I would be more than happy to get a Joost invite for trying out this exciting new technology. Thanks for this initiative!

May 6th, 2007 at 1:27 pm
I love tv and internet but now i´m can´t watch tv so often, soif joost it´s close to they said will be great use the service
May 6th, 2007 at 2:14 pm
I don’t like the fact that it’s for free, because it means it will be ad-based.
I hate ads. I hate the ad based business model of the Internet. Can’t we think of anything better?
May 6th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
Hey, signed up for the email notifications – looks like an interesting community :) I’d love a Joost invite – looks like a very interesting service. In response to the above, the ad-based stuff drives me crazy too especially in streaming video (like the major news websites)… it seems likely that they’d offer a paid service (monthly fee) to remove the ads, but I haven’t seen any of my favorite news video sites do that yet. =/
May 6th, 2007 at 6:00 pm
Very keen to get a Joost invite. Also just signed up for your email newsletter. Look forward to seeing the content
May 7th, 2007 at 12:01 am

if joost stays free, it’ll def. hit it big. especially once more ppl hop on the bandwagon… it’ll be insane.
May 7th, 2007 at 1:05 am
Internet TV is the way forward and Joost looks like a nice way of doing it.
May 7th, 2007 at 1:35 am
i’ve been downloading shows for a long time, but its an annoying process, hopefully this will be easy to use, i’d love an invite and would repay with an indietorrent(dot)com invite if i get one. thanks!

I would love an invite!

I have been very dissapointed with how the entertainment industry has been treating the internet. Instead of a revolutionary new distribution medium for lowering prices and getting new content out faster, they have taken the opposite approach and protected their monopoly with lawsuits. I think it takes efforts from the internet community to show these conglomerates how we want the future of the internet to be. Let’s be part of that revolution (and please send me an invite!). Thanks!
May 7th, 2007 at 2:50 am
I’m really excited to see how internet TV will affect my viewing habits. I’m curious to see the quality of the video! I just subscribed to your rss feed. It looks cool!
May 7th, 2007 at 3:56 am
I’m ready for internet tv. It would be much more convenient for me to watch it over my computer rather than having to worry about a tv.
May 7th, 2007 at 4:57 am
Internet TV is a great idea. I think things will only get better from here. I can’t wait to try Joost.
I’ll add you as my DIGG friend
May 7th, 2007 at 5:33 am
Thanks for the invite. Very much appreciated!
May 7th, 2007 at 5:42 am
Internet TV is in its infancy. The reason I want an invite, and I assume this is true for many of us, is that Joost offers a promise to at least bring internet TV into its toddler years.

I’m looking forward to Joost as an alternative to the expensive cable. And I really hope that the content will be varied enough to represent an alternatice to classical TV.
Looking forwared for an invite!
PS. I’ve subscribed to your feed.
May 7th, 2007 at 6:24 am
internet tv… sounds great, but I have no idea yet until I give it a whirl… I really need one of these darn invites.
May 7th, 2007 at 6:28 am
anxious to check Joost out-so far Internet TV is mostly crap and ads
May 7th, 2007 at 7:50 am
please send and invite and thanks for sharing, you rock!!!
As for internet tv…
I can’t even remember when it happened, although my guess is sometime in the year 2000, but without even noticing I completly stopped watching tv and started spending all my free time surfing the web. This is as exciting as the first time I discovered mp3’s, and the day I discovered napster. I hope joost is to tv what napster was to music.

I subscribed to your RSS feed.
Cool blog.
Good luck filling everyone’s requests!
May 7th, 2007 at 10:30 am
I have been waiting for internet TV for a long time. I won’t be surprized if the result is uneven at first, but it will be worth the wait.
May 7th, 2007 at 10:53 am
Internet TV is the next big thing on infotainment sector. I can’t wait for something like Joost to start. Any invitation will be well appreciated! Thanks for the post
May 7th, 2007 at 11:08 am
I believe that Internet tv is the future of TV. I think that the people suing Youtube and others should just sign agreements with youtube and others to show there shows with commercials and all on youtube and such. Because they are still making as much as they would and also they dont have to pay to be on the cable or satalite television stations.
May 7th, 2007 at 12:40 pm
I think there are still a lot of issues to work out. Online only?, downloadable? Which format for portable devices?
May 7th, 2007 at 2:00 pm
Hello,
Could you pls. send me an invitation???
I believe that Internet TV is one of the best things that are happening in our lives. It marks the beginning of a new era!! Say GOOD BYE to cable and satellite TVs….
May 7th, 2007 at 4:57 pm
Internet TV is only possible in countries that have unlimited bandwidth. Unfortunately for me, I’m currently in Russia where bandwidth is at a premium and it will be several years before anywhere outside of moscow even learns of internet TV.
In theory its excellent, but it could turn the interactive internet experience into a passive boob-tube trance that we are trying so hard to avoid.
Its a double edged sword.
May 7th, 2007 at 5:19 pm
I think global internet TV is the last chance for the networks to save revenue from TV-series, since we who don’t live in US download tv-series with commercials stripped. Just because we can’t see them otherwise.
Added you at DIGG!
May 7th, 2007 at 6:21 pm
The issue with software and technology is that companies are still not understanding open source. The only way to move technology forward and innovate at the largest pace is to provide access to the source or at least the APIs. IPTV software needs to be open to provide the best service to the digital world.
I would appreciate a Joost invite.
Thanks in advance,
Matt
May 7th, 2007 at 6:44 pm
I think it’s a brilliant concept…if it can handle less than perfect internet speeds
May 7th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
I heard from my friend that this JOOST was fantastic. I really hope to be a member of it, tks x 10000000000…
May 7th, 2007 at 8:39 pm
Internet TV is a great response to the dwindling appeal of free-to-air TV, and the stranglehold that pay TV is, sadistically, enjoying.
May 7th, 2007 at 10:13 pm
Webtv the view of the future…man in asia it is already huge… and what I saw there was awesome. I heard Joost is quite a thing, hopefully I’ll find out soon.
Cheers’

Personally, I’d love to get Joost just because I can’t STAND Comcast, and Verizon FIOS TV isn’t available in my area yet. In addition, my fiance is a HUGE technophile, and I’d actually get this for him as a surprise. If you could hook me up, that would be MOST appreciated!!
Email is ladyhawke82 (at) gmail (dot) com.

Internet tv looks to be exactly how I want to buy tv, but until its in my front room using a simple remote and I dont end up supporting it every 5mins for the family then I cant see it replacing cable or sat for a few years yet.
would love an invite to joost to start playing, please ;-)

Could I have an account? please.
Thanks
May 9th, 2007 at 3:52 am
I watch a lot of internet TV… as much I can get my hands on anyway! abc and cbs now have some of their programs online and its good to have the option of watching the episodes when I want. Still I run out of available stuff to watch and having a Joost account would be neat. :)
Thanks!!
May 9th, 2007 at 6:24 am
I truly believe that Internet TV, especially an on-demand system like Joost is the future of streaming media. The only thing that I see that could possibly eclipse a system like Joost (unless they adapt as well) would be the creation of a streaming service that offers HD quality content. Granted, this will be very bandwidth intensive, but would be well worth it.
May 9th, 2007 at 8:07 am
Internet tv will be the wave of the future. It wasn’t that long ago that we laughed when we heard that most music would be downloaded from the internet and that cd’s would be dying off. Just give it some time.
May 9th, 2007 at 8:58 am
I think it’s about time someone started giving free, hi quality tv on the net. i already get most of my tv shows of the net, this just cuts down my costs for which i will forever be thankful the lifesavers who are the creators of joost.
May 9th, 2007 at 9:34 am

May 9th, 2007 at 2:30 pm
I think internet television is going to be the wave of the future soon. We are putting EVERYTHING from movies to radio online in order to share things with our friends and family members across the globe, to discover new interests and just for plain convenience. I’m very interested in seeing what Joost has to offer. I’ve heard lots of great things about the program and what the future of these types of programs has in store. Thanks for the offer!
May 9th, 2007 at 4:04 pm

May 10th, 2007 at 5:02 am
Would love to try joost. Never liked cable and watch tv on a 13 inch, but love to watch NBC flashback shows on my 19 inch computer monitor. Joost sounds just like what I am looking for.
May 10th, 2007 at 5:48 am
A lot of us have been waiting on Joost with high expectations. I would love an invite as we are limited in Canada to what we can get.
Great site too……..Brian
May 10th, 2007 at 10:11 am
I would like to try Joost from what you said as to it’s performance on ssllloooowwww connections!
May 10th, 2007 at 10:45 am
I think that web TV is the future. Cable companies should not charge that much if they want to stay in business.
May 10th, 2007 at 4:04 pm
i would love to try out joost since they promised ZERO lag and exceptionally high quality videos.
I love Web TV cuz you are not bound by the amount of shows and fixed channel of your local television networks ……
May 10th, 2007 at 10:51 pm
Joost seems to be the answer to all my probs! Ive tried a lot of internet TV.And frankly their all quite crap and the goof quality ones take ages to stream! By the looks of it Joost looks really promising
May 10th, 2007 at 10:57 pm

What better way is there to meet the broadband demands then the fashion used too for skype? The internet tv will help save tv and it’s horrible plethora of ads with concentrated coordinated ad use that cuts down neccesary ads. I’ll finally start watching again!!!!
Please invite Kemod77@hottishmail.com
(Yes, It’s not really “Hottish”)
May 12th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
Would you be so kind to send an invite
Please:)
May 13th, 2007 at 12:38 am
In a recent tv-news announcement about Joost it was doubted that it would be a succes because of the lower quality vs high definition. Personally I often find myself scanning the 30 or so “normal” tv channels we can receive for something interesting to watch. In conclusion, I think I will love Joost, providing some interesting content will be available.

May 13th, 2007 at 11:11 am
I want to try Joost,
Please send my an invite
May 13th, 2007 at 5:59 pm
I have tried the 4od, thought it not bad although im not too keen on that once you’ve started watching it you have to finish watching it within 48 hours. I’m a big fan of watching webisodes though, stuff like the videos on Bravos website. Am very keen to see if joosts video quality is what I’ve heard it is. One other thing, if the mini mac was to come with a bigger hard drive, watching TV from your computer would be a much more viable option! Anyway thats my 10p. Bring on the Joost!
May 13th, 2007 at 6:35 pm

Hey, Do you have any invites left? I really want to check out joost. TIA
May 14th, 2007 at 1:56 am
I do not have a real TV since it keeps me away from working. Now I know if internet TV really gets millions and millions of everyday users it will be both: a lot of interesting content and a lot of rubbish, a lot of advertisement and a LOT of human-time spent in a still position
May 14th, 2007 at 8:38 am
hi, send me invite thanks,
May 14th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
The internet has replaced almost every other media I have used (CD players, DVD Rental, Radio, Newspaper) … why not add TV to the list? :)

i like it. it makes life easier for me.
May 15th, 2007 at 1:07 am

May 15th, 2007 at 4:22 am
I’m really excited to hear about Joost, because I have a really nice, big flatscreen tv for a monitor, but so much of the stuff available on the net is a) of really bad quality and b) often not actually there when you click on the link.
Nice website by the way!
May 15th, 2007 at 4:32 am
I look forward to see iTV everywhere on my beloved Tablet PC!
May 15th, 2007 at 4:36 am

May 15th, 2007 at 5:19 am

Joost
May 15th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
To be perfectly honest, one of the only reasons I’m interested in Internet TV is due to the fact that I work 7 days a week, and have very little free time to watch some of my favorite shows. The Video On Demand feature that certain networks have been doing lately have helped, but it would be much more helpful to have a greater selection, with more networks participating.
May 15th, 2007 at 4:24 pm

May 15th, 2007 at 7:57 pm
You ask what I think of internet TV? Ha!! No uch thig as far as I have seen. I have viewed a lot of wannabes, but all fail in a major way. Please send an invitation and we will see if internet TV is actually possible.
May 15th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Please send me a Joost invite. I would really like to check it out. Thanks!
May 15th, 2007 at 8:31 pm
Hey man……
I think Internet TV is one step into the future for technology. I think it’s great that you can watch tV on Internet. It’s totally awesome.
I added as you as a friend on StumbleUpon. My ID is pritamkumar90. Can you send me the invite for joost now???
May 15th, 2007 at 8:32 pm
Hey my email ID is pritamkumar90@gmail.com Can u send me the invite over there? I added you as a friend on stumbleUpon :D
May 15th, 2007 at 8:47 pm
Hello there,
I’m also very interested in internet TV because I don’t want to spend money on a TV or TV card. Another advantage for me is to receive broadcast from foreign countries, which I would like very much. If Joost can really hold its promise of high resolution without a long loading time, I would be very happy. I would really like to test this new technology…
May 15th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
I work constantly, that’s why I am addicted to sites which offer full uploads of my favorite shows… However, I am always concerned about the legality of the sites I am patronizing, so I am VERY excited about Joost! Please let me check it out ;-) I subscribed to your feed. Thanks.
May 15th, 2007 at 9:56 pm
I’ve found the rise of video sharing sites in the past couple of years very interesting and I’m looking forward to how this progresses into full blown TV.
With both the BBC and Channel 4 starting their own internet TV services very soon here in england, it looks like competition should help all parties grow and expand very quickly.
From what I’ve heard so far, Joost seems to provide a very effective service, no matter what the spec of the users PC/connection and so on this front looks like things are going well. Haven’t really heard much on the content yet so I’d have to check that out, but hopefully I’ll now have that chance. Cheers in advance for the invite if I get one.
PS. Your RSS feed has been well and truly subscribed in both my readers :)
May 16th, 2007 at 1:10 am
Hi I want an invite. This would be so awesome when I’m not sitting in front of my TV or not busy at work. Yaaaay!
May 16th, 2007 at 1:29 am
I think in this case, demand will inspire supply.
People are loathe to be tethered to their TV or even their TiVo. We download shows week after week through legal (iTunes) or illegal (BitTorrent) methods, and then still turn around and buy the complete DVD series.
We’re increasingly mobile and increasingly ‘connected’. We demand to be able to watch on our iPod and our phone, in line at the bank, on the train to work, and while at the dentist.
Major networks are listening and have made many shows available via their websites after initial broadcast. I, frankly, don’t see a way in which the majority of television content *won’t* be available online. It’s evolution.
I’ve subscribed via BlogLines after finding this blog only today. I’m genuinely happy to have found it and look forward to reading new entries.
May 16th, 2007 at 2:08 am
Pretty pretty please can I have an invite!
May 16th, 2007 at 4:49 am
I’ve been waiting for something like this for awhile now. Seems fitting that people will jump on the idea of TV on demand. Conventional television is getting more and more bloated with tripe, cheap and cheesy content.
May 16th, 2007 at 9:31 am
i work night shift so on my nights off this will be wonderful. also i am so sick of 1/3 of viewing time being spent with commercials. this may make my fujitsu lifebook worth the money,(but i doubt it). can i have the invite to joost.
thanks for this wonderful site from a freeware junkie.
May 16th, 2007 at 9:56 am
I think it is about time that cable tv was not the only chose for great viewing. I have two cumputers and one tv, so now I dont have to go out and buy extra tv’s for the rest of the house. I hav tried watching other streeming tv put the chanel selection was not that good. I cant waite to try Joost. I would really love to have an invite.
May 16th, 2007 at 12:28 pm
I am an American living in Oz and miss some of my favourite TV shows and am curious to see what’s on Joost! Can I watch PBS?
May 16th, 2007 at 2:49 pm
I think that we’re just at the beginning of something currently undefinable, and that we’re going to find out A. it’s totally useful and B. it may well indeed also bite us in the ass. So that means C. people should take back the content and copyright and get with the Creative Commons programme. Yo!
May 16th, 2007 at 3:20 pm
I think internet TV will finally enable on demand viewing…and unlimited choice…both being the next frontiers for user choice. I look forward to catching a lot of cool stuff on Joost and similar other services as they come onstream.
May 17th, 2007 at 12:27 am
Hi, Really interested in discovering what it’s all about. Would love to get an invite !
cheers.
May 17th, 2007 at 1:03 am
Hi, I would really like to try Joost!!!
I am going to add you as one of my StumbleUpon friends as well….
Thankyou
May 17th, 2007 at 1:08 am

May 17th, 2007 at 1:21 am
wah wah wah
May 17th, 2007 at 1:38 am
I’m interested in Internet TV with choice of both time and content. Joost seems to promise it all. I’d appreciate an invite and I’ve joined your newsletter community.

May 17th, 2007 at 6:02 am
I’ve been searching for a place to watch it all. Looks like this is it. Looking forward to play with Joost.
May 17th, 2007 at 8:45 am
I think that Internet TV is definitely going to be the future of TV. Everything is so integrated with computers now, it seems almost silly to have an extra box sitting around, when all our entertainment can be in one place.
May 17th, 2007 at 9:00 am
I have to see it to believe it!!!
May 17th, 2007 at 10:13 am
I look forward to being really impressed!
May 17th, 2007 at 10:22 am
internet Tv is the easiest way to hadle time and be uptodate with the entertaiment
May 17th, 2007 at 10:31 am
Joost me up pleez!
I’ve seen the ad and read the specs…kinda think it’s too good to be true. High quality video at your convenience w/out too much hassle seems too logical.
I’ve been watching a lot of shows from iTunes…the quality isn’t the greatest, but the convenience factor is what works for me. I think Joost could finally bridge the gap between tv and internet.
Only way I find out…is if u hook a brutha up =)
…respect & blessings!
May 17th, 2007 at 10:43 am
TV via internet … no more seeking out the television remote. :D I’m ready to give it a try!
May 17th, 2007 at 10:50 am
I’m sceptical but willing to try. Does it work on a MAC? On You Tube it’s potluck and crap quality so this is bound to be better. Will there be the shows I want to see, or will the networks exact so high a price via intrusiveness or ads to make it unuseable?
May 17th, 2007 at 12:28 pm
I love watching a nice clear video over the internet. Youtube and google video websites are ok to use but I would like to experience a better quality video format. Thanks for having a great web site.
May 17th, 2007 at 1:49 pm
This will change the television industry dramatically. It is the future and who ever gets in first will be a leader in the industry. Your website is very informative .
May 17th, 2007 at 9:16 pm
With IPTV, we will all be getting larger monitors so all can gather ’round, rather than my small one-per monitor viewing experience. How do you regulate TV watching at work though?
May 17th, 2007 at 11:02 pm
I think internet TV is wonderful, even better than pay TV. Being able to watch what you want, when you want it… it has got to be one of the most useful ideas ever.
Thank you for bringing this site to my attention. It definatley sounds like something I want to be a part of. I would appreciate an invite if you still have some.
Thanks.
May 18th, 2007 at 12:45 am
I really think that the Internet TV will over rule the traditional TV. Because of its interactivity, infinite content proposal and the direct access to the people, the Internet TV is destined to a bright future. Somes years ago, I used Winamp with it`s Internet TV channels. There were great content even from the beginning, offered by the people themself. I really hope that big corporation stops trying to counter the movement of free and liberal content distribution. Why can they just cope with change and support what the people like instead of dictating it.
See ya!
May 18th, 2007 at 2:08 am
internet tv is awesome , you can watch it anywhere especially if you travel alot and you can’t always find youself infront of a tv.
May 18th, 2007 at 5:31 am
What I have seen for internet tv has been youtube. It usually has a delayed unsteady look. I am looking forward to something cleaner and more stable. I hope Joost will make tv viewing more enjoyable
May 18th, 2007 at 7:21 am
Sofar watching Tv over the web is extremely dissapointing
hope this foost invite will change it
May 18th, 2007 at 8:31 am
It would be nice to watch what you want when you want and not pay for channels you don’t want.
May 18th, 2007 at 8:52 am
Several years ago (1999?) my (business) partner and myself approached several hotels in downtown Ottawa (ON CA) with a plan to “pipe” movies to their guests using fiber and ADSL over electric. We knew we could do this — the technologies, although pricey, were available — but we failed to get licensing agreements from . . . you guessed it . . . the movie industry who claimed to be “working on something of the sort [themselves]†Yeah, right! At that time hotels were offering a very limited and static movie selection via arcane variations of cable and banks of VCRs. Ah, well.
May 18th, 2007 at 11:29 am
Internet TV with Joost? Really like to enjoy this new revolutionary technology..;)
May 18th, 2007 at 4:06 pm
I’d love an invite to try this out.
May 18th, 2007 at 10:30 pm
I think the idea of internet tv is great, but up until now only very obscure channels have been available. In addition, even with my broadband connection it can be choppy. Or it can be of low video quality, and have difficulty in buffering. But I appreciate the opportunity to learn more.
May 19th, 2007 at 2:50 am
great site! – I’m going to add you guys to our cool links section
May 19th, 2007 at 9:06 am
I think it´s a good example of how media is extending to new platforms. I am especially interested in its impact on traditional TV.
May 19th, 2007 at 3:32 pm
i think its a great way of being well informed and its great tv
May 19th, 2007 at 11:06 pm
It sounds interesting, but I’ll remain skeptical until I see how it turns out. It sounds like a nice premise, but I’d have to see results first.
May 20th, 2007 at 3:25 am
I would like to explore what exactly Internet TV worldwide is. Today I am not using my TV set at home anymore. The reason is that I can afford watching every channel I need in my country. But now I begin missing the worldwide most known channels like MTV and National Geographic.
May 20th, 2007 at 5:00 am
I think Internet TV will be the next big breakthrough that’s why the big media firms are jumping on this one
May 20th, 2007 at 5:35 pm
Love internet TV – use it a lot to watch sports..just stumbled upon this website and love it. Joost sounds great..would love an invite and can’t wait to check it out.
May 21st, 2007 at 12:19 am
I’d love to start using Joost! Please invite me, Thanks! Lee
May 21st, 2007 at 8:43 am
What I find most intriguing about Internet TV is the possibilities for feedback, the creation of communities… being able to watch things from anywhere else. I do hope there really is good streaming. I’d really like to see local news from some strange place half the world away.
May 21st, 2007 at 12:27 pm
I believe it will be a major format in the next decade if it isn’t shut down by the government. But with the addition of time-shifting (Tivo) and place-shifting (Slingbox) opportunities. The television market is changing.
May 21st, 2007 at 8:54 pm
I haven’t found much internet TV worth watching. What I have found has generally been too small, but this Joost thing looks cool!
May 21st, 2007 at 9:16 pm
JOOST is the next big thing on the internet !
May 21st, 2007 at 10:00 pm
I’ve been watching some form of TV on my PC for over 10 years. It will be awesome to disconnect from cable someday- like getting free of the phone company. I’m excited to try JOOST.
May 22nd, 2007 at 1:38 am
Skeptical, but willing to give it a try. My schedule keeps me from easily watching TV and I don’t have a DVR so I can’t put shows on my laptop. Thanks for the invite to try JOOST!
May 22nd, 2007 at 3:27 am
Can’t wait to give it a shot. I’ve heard some really great things about it. Plus, I’m too cheap to pay for cable.
May 22nd, 2007 at 3:36 am
the perfect way to see tv, without turning back on work…
i would love to
thanks
May 22nd, 2007 at 5:01 am

Thanks,

May 22nd, 2007 at 10:56 pm
I have been hoping for a Joost invite to check it out. I have heard it rocks!
May 23rd, 2007 at 2:01 am
I would love one of these invites! I think Internet TV is becoming very important, especially with so many of us on the move and not wanting to miss one show for example, gives great flexibility and freedom to the user as it should be!
May 23rd, 2007 at 7:13 am
TV on demand via the internet is awesome when traveling. I would love an invite to Joost. Thank you!
May 23rd, 2007 at 12:34 pm
I would be so excited and thankfull to recieve an invite to Joost. Just the idea of watching movies, my fav. TV shows and such on line makes me all giddy. (LoL) Mainly because I’m tired of paying huge cable bills. I’ve just started learning about the different web sites who are offering this type of service. Some are umm…. well not so good, while others are awesome. I am familiar with Skype and Kazaa, so I know that if their geniuses are on board here with Joost this should be a true gift to have. I would soo appreciate an inivte.
So (hopefully) Thanks in advance Friedbeef’s Tech
May 23rd, 2007 at 1:04 pm
Very curious to see what the quality of programming will be with the Joost service. I don’t use cable–without TiVo or a DVR the cost isn’t worth it. Thanks very much for your offer of a Joost invite!
May 23rd, 2007 at 6:03 pm
thank you so much for your kind offer. i have added you to both my own google reader and to my husband’s “my-yahoo”. i would have done it anyway as your site is so great!

May 23rd, 2007 at 7:24 pm
Starting to like webcast TV. I would lik to try joost!
May 24th, 2007 at 4:55 am
Hi,
I think Internet TV could potentially be a great addition to the world of entertainment. It could lower the cost of the high fees the large Cable companies charge customers. I’m currently testing out Sprint TV on my phone…It seems to be ok but would like to try it on th PC.
May 24th, 2007 at 9:49 am
cable/satellite tv prices are outrageous. makes me angrier than gas prices. remember when tv used to be free? it would be nice to pick and choose content instead of clicking aimlessly from one channel to another. but yes, since i dont have a tv right now i want to make the most out of my internet fees and use the computer for everything i can… work… play… tv…. thanx, i subscribed to your RSS.
May 24th, 2007 at 11:37 am
i’d like to get invitation if it’s possible…
May 24th, 2007 at 11:51 am

please send me an joost friend invite as I am very much interested in it
May 25th, 2007 at 12:59 am
I think Internet TV is the way of the future. I live in a foreign country and use a slingbox, but the upload speeds in the US are too slow to support it, so picture quality is bad. That is why I would love to try Joost.
May 25th, 2007 at 1:09 am
Very generious offer. Thank you very much.
May 25th, 2007 at 4:43 am

please give joost invite
lostx2x@gmail.com
thanks!!!!!!!!
June 9th, 2007 at 4:26 am
I like the idea of internet tv exept I am worried that TV companies will invent new and intrusive ways to stop you skpping odverts, or forcing adverts into video where the averts ahve been removed. This could then pread, now the technology was avallable, into other programs adn media.
Its also a brillaint way to fail your exams as online tv is always a more inviting prospect than online revision.
June 9th, 2007 at 11:55 am
Just read about Joost today on MSN. Would love to check it out.
Thanks!

June 9th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
Huumm I got it see it to believe it.
June 10th, 2007 at 8:17 am
It won’t be long before traditional cable will be obsolete. The internet and the way it works will soon be the ONLY way we communicate and interact.
June 10th, 2007 at 3:29 pm
Internet TV a step closer to the digital communication frontier where text, audio and video converge. It is an alternative source to the traditional media and more importantly it allows mankind to excercise its right to select and choose the preferred TV programme interractively and to weed out the weak in the soon to be cut-throat advert industry.
June 11th, 2007 at 9:15 am
I hope the national networks have big plans for this and make it worth it. If not, then I guess this would be fertile ground for independent enterprises. Either way it will be nice to have.
June 14th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Internet TV is very convenient for those who wish to watch a show that is not available in their country (:
June 14th, 2007 at 3:02 pm
woops i forgot to put my email address in the comment above !
June 18th, 2007 at 5:03 am
Internet TV is the future of television entertainment. I wonder what could Graboid offer more that Joost cant!
June 19th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
Hello, please send me a Joost invite if you have any more left. Thanks a lot, your the best!
June 22nd, 2007 at 2:31 am
I like the idea of watching video on demand over the internet. Advertising is changing as well as ads are “customized” to viewing habits. I hope this is a good thing for the consumer.
June 22nd, 2007 at 4:21 am
How audiovisual media will evolve is not clear yet. However, it is now obvious that traditional television and radio are less and less relevant. Being able to choose what, when and where information is taken is the next step.
June 22nd, 2007 at 6:31 am
I think that internet TV would be a good thing for a few reasons.
A) Busy work folk don’t always have the time to sit down in front of the television and enjoy there favorite shows. With internet TV, Who knows…maybe they can enjoy some shows at work to on there laptop? Makes life easier on them in a sence
B) For those that don’t have cable. I do know of some people (oddly enough) that have internet, But no cable TV; Thus limiting them to channels like FOX, ABC, Ect.
No one likes watching the same old channels day after day. Internet TV will bring those without cable to a new TV experience.
All in All, Internet TV looks like it will be a great addition to our lives.
June 23rd, 2007 at 6:24 pm
I think that Joost will become madd popular amongst tech heads and cannot wait to toy with the beta just to see what kinda quality picture it has.
June 26th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
Could i get a joost invite as soon as u can get it.
Thanks, Will
June 26th, 2007 at 7:29 pm
Although I have little interest in TV, I am curious to try Internet TV. I subbed to your RSS feed and would love to get a Joost invite. Thanks.

Hey there,
My opinion on internet TV is simple. It’s free!!!But there are disadvantages too.Horrible resolution, sound, the video isn’t smooth etc.As everyone,I’ve been trying to find an online TV which would give me satisfaction but haven’t had any luck so far.Joost looks like it could work well so I’d like to give it a go
June 28th, 2007 at 1:18 am
I started watching TV and movies online a few months ago, now I literally go a week or two at a time without watching the ‘real’ TV at all… some of the sites that are out there are still rather unreliable, but I think this will only improve in time. I’d like an invitation to Joost, I’m interested to see how it will compare.

I’d love to try Internet TV because I don’t have room for both a television and a computer in my small apartment! Thank you so much for sending me a Joost invitation!
July 1st, 2007 at 11:38 pm
I live in Ireland for now and would love to give the internet TV a try. I have been downloading episodes of my favorite shows for a while now.. If I could watch them on the internet and as soon as the networks posted them, I would be in heaven!
July 3rd, 2007 at 6:48 am
I would like to try internet tv, so I can watch tv on my kitchen computer.
I would love to try Joost, hopefully I will get an invite
July 3rd, 2007 at 11:23 am
i love watching tv online because its free… i hate the fact that not everything i wanna see is out there. For example, ive been trying to watch “Scrubs” from season 1 but there are some episodes i just couldnt find so I had to settle with reading the summaries. Hopefully there will be a website that will give me every episode of the show i want to see
July 4th, 2007 at 4:56 am
I have been trying to get a joostn invite for a while now -thanks.
I’m in television broadcasting. the internet could render network television obsolete, but it will be a long time before it takes away local news programming. People will always need to know what is going on in their local communities, and it will require a profitable business model to take it to the net.

July 6th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
TV on the web ? Of course we need TV on the web. What else are the spiders going to watch during their idle moments ? And think of the advertising potential … spiders need stuff too – Fly restaurants, silk restorer, custom-made spectacles … You could have programmes with tips on web construction, and the world’s most musical sounding webs. Showcases of tasty looking flies. Gossip about eligable widows. Bored spiders of today need web TV !

July 17th, 2007 at 5:57 am
Internet TV is the future of TV, but it obviously isn’t there yet. It’s too slow and choppy, quality isn’t where it should be yet.
July 17th, 2007 at 8:48 am
I’ve sold my 5 TVs and canceled my cable subscription. Please send me an invite.
July 19th, 2007 at 3:11 am
Looking to check out internet tv – would love to see how far it has come and what hurdles it still has to get past. Please shoot me an invite.
July 19th, 2007 at 5:37 am
As a busy college student with booked-up evenings and no money for Tivo, internet TV is now my favorite way to watch. Especially with so many popular shows heavy serialized these days, if you miss one episode, you’re lost!
Please send an invite–I subscribed to your RSS feed. Great stuff!

You should check out http://www.freetube.us.tc I think it came out at the same time as this one it’s rather good actually, but its live television rather then just streaming video. If anyone wants some Joost invites contact me and I’ll hook you up.

July 21st, 2007 at 2:49 pm
I would love to watch tv on the net it sounds really cool!!!
July 22nd, 2007 at 7:52 pm
I used to watch TVUplayer all the time. Recently I have been getting horrible results. I would love to have a good website available to watch internet TV. I also believe that eventually most TV cable subscriptions will be serviced through the internet and played on your TV. I want a joost invite. My email is lockridge@gmail.com.
July 23rd, 2007 at 2:29 am
The possibility should be there, for the ones who wants, knows how to, and has the opportunity. It’s great for me, student without tv, but with laptop, lacking tv-tuner. I’d appreciate an invite!
July 24th, 2007 at 2:18 am
Hi,
Very interesting technology. I think it will pose a great challenge to the new mobile TV, especially when WiMax technology allows us to be connected almost anywhere any time. I’d appreciate an invite!
July 26th, 2007 at 9:39 am
Love the site! Came today from Lifehacker to read the top 5 useful items you can print and found a lot of interesting articles that are right up my alley. Thanks for all the great info and I would really appreciate a joost invite. Thanks!

Just happened onto this discussion while doing some tech surfing. I bought KWorld’s PlusTV, but am very disappointed in the results. I’m hoping I can still be added on to try out Joost.
I’m sort of a ‘hippie fossil’, self-taught and fumbling with this tech stuff, but I’m planning on a career change that requires going back to school on the other coast from where I am. To that end, I am consolidating my possessions as much as I can to the smallest physical volume possible. I have taken a major step by moving from desktop to laptop and realized I should move my televison needs to the computer screen. After all, shortly HDTV will be the norm, and my old TV is now over a decade old and needs replacing; why not place it on the laptop?
We live in a world that gets more mobile all the time, and storage gets expensive while serving as either an extension of one’s living space or a revolving repurchase of replaceable items. The iPhone consolidates things nicely, though it makes it far too easy to have your ‘life’ stolen or lost; I consider it too much on too small and too palmable an object (the reason I have no interest in iPods). Hell, I still have trouble justifying owning a car, given the cost and its mobility.
But TV on the laptop, with or without the enhancement of a larger USB’d LCD monitor; that seems to me the way things are moving…

I think internet tv is something wonderful waiting to be developed and gain momentum. Like music downloads have changed the music industry — ‘net tv will make changes we can’t yet anticipate.
I’m added you to my stumbleupon friends and would love to receive a joost invite. Thanks in advance!
August 6th, 2007 at 5:17 am
Well, your RSS feed is now part of my Google reader and now I’ve to tell you what I think about Internet TV.
I guess internet tv is the future. People like me don’t want the tv networks to decide when to look to a program. We want to be boss of our own time.
I guess you understand I would love to get a joost invite.
August 8th, 2007 at 12:49 am
I want to know if it´s true.
August 8th, 2007 at 2:39 am
So…will there still be an invite forthcoming? Or is that all over now?
August 8th, 2007 at 7:15 am
Hi Chris, as you can see from the comments, I get an overwhelming response for these invites, so i typically wait for a few to come in before issue invites at one go… anyway you’ve got yours now :)
August 9th, 2007 at 8:47 am
I never thought watching tv on a computer was any good. First of all the price was always out of this world and you could never get a lot of the channels. It always took forever to load, then there was interruptions, the sound was bad and it was just a real pain in the neck, no wonder no one ever used it. I’m looking forward to trying Joost, this sounds like the best thing around!!! I have never seen or heard of anything nearly close to what Joost has to offer! I am extremely excited over this!!!! Great work!!

I found your site from StumbleUpon; it’s been a long time since I’ve spent so much time at one site 8^)
I’ve subbed in Google Reader, and friended you at StumbleUpon, Digg, and BlogLog. Looking forward to being able to friend you at Joost once I receive my invite (if they have friending).
August 16th, 2007 at 9:13 am
I would love to try internet tv with firefox. I currently have the streaming internet radio toolbar in ie7, but haven’t been able to get it to work. I spend most of my time at home on the internet…mostly for work, but I also get on a research theme or game site. I’m a diehard multitasker, so being able to watch tv while working or internet surfing would be heaven!
August 19th, 2007 at 5:06 am
You won’t believe that just yesterday, I was thinking how great of an idea internet tv would be without the hassle of hooking up a slingbox to your computer!
Please send me an invite if it is not too late, I am getting a newsletter now and I am part of your community.
Thank you so much!
August 20th, 2007 at 7:13 am
I Love internet tv too. I’d appriciate an invite to joost
August 20th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
I get frustrated that most of the internet programming channels I find are from remote parts of the world and not in english. I do not want world television, i just want high quality US network and US specialty channels.
August 21st, 2007 at 10:34 pm
I think internet TV will be something that is much more commonly used in the future. I’d appreciate an invite to Joost.

Hello James, your RSS feed has been part of my Google Reader for quite a while now. I think internet TV has been around for quite some time, however, I have yet to see an Internet TV that is not blurry, or choppy at best. If Joost can offer content that’s high-quality and that streams smoothly, that’s a real eye-opener! Appreciate it if you can spare me an invite. Thanks!

October 8th, 2007 at 6:56 am
I love the idea of internet tv but it has yet to catch on. I canceled my cable subscription and phone line and saved $80 a month. Too bad I can’t watch football anymore. Any ideas out there how one might watch NFL live?

I think that the future of the internet TV is definitely bright with all that video content on the reach of your hands and the increasing capabilities of broadband connections. With sites like http://www.clickandseetv.com/ you can choose from several hundred channels and you don’t even have to pay a dime.

I been wanting to watch tv programs from other countries and I strongly believe the internet is the way to go. If the video quality is there, then there is no better way.
March 16th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
I don’t know anything about internet TV… my husband and I watch Democracy Now! on the internet, but I’m not sure that’s the same thing. It would be great to have better reception of good video, because YouTube is choppy and videos on news outlets are even choppier. Thanks for the offer!

April 23rd, 2008 at 2:54 am
well to talk of internet tv … i think its a great way to save money if you just have a comp and not a t.v…but the sad thing is you got to have a fast connection to enjoy this service properly …in a way its a boon to couch potato’s…as theyi’ll be able to do everything at once and ina way you get a larger variety of channels…atleast you dont have topay for cable that is…in the end its user dependent but in my opinion i fell its great but not the best yet
July 25th, 2008 at 2:49 am
