In the beginning I could have 3,5 hours of kinda working / browsing one a single charge. After a while it get's a little less but overall still quite good. I had the laptop for only 6 months at that time so last week I sent an email to Dell with explaining this isn't normal (site stated a battery should last for at least 18 months) and a request for a new one. Got him the day before yesterday and I'm very happy with it, but I'm afraid I'll have to get a new one in about 8 months if the previous battery was a good one.
